Nutrition

Nutrition is a system designed to support diet formulation and management for dairy cows, developed for consultants working in animal nutrition and milk production.

I worked directly with animal nutrition specialists to transform technical processes and information into a digital experience. My role involved organizing the interface, developing interactive flows, and creating wireframes and prototypes that guided the development of the product.

Formulating diets for dairy cows involves a large volume of nutritional information that varies according to the animals' stage of production, feed availability, and the conditions of each farm.

The specialists involved in the project already had established processes in spreadsheets and an initial definition of the system's features. The design challenge was to transform this knowledge into a tool that connected the different stages of the consultant's workflow without compromising the clarity of the technical information.

My previous experience with dairy farming projects helped me understand the domain. In Nutrition, I worked directly with specialists to understand the existing processes and discuss how their information and operations should be presented in the interface.

Based on this structure, I developed wireframes and prototypes to explore screen organization, navigation, and interaction flows. These materials supported discussions and approvals throughout the evolution of the project.

The work focused on connecting the system's features into a clear sequence, establishing information hierarchy, and guiding consultants as they performed their tasks.

Nutrition organizes the consultant's workflow into a journey that begins with registering farms and groups of animals, then moves through feed selection, diet formulation, and nutritional monitoring.

The feed library brings together technical data to support ingredient selection. During diet formulation, the system presents nutritional and financial information that helps consultants evaluate both the composition and cost of the diet.

The experience also includes planning feed preparation for each group, monitoring feeding management, and generating reports. A roadmap guides users through the different stages of the system, connecting these tools into an integrated workflow.
